Affinity Groups
The ILAACP Affinity Groups are comprised of prevention and early intervention practitioners, advocates, researchers and policymakers who share an interest and experience in a health or social disparity negatively impacting Illinois African American community. The Affinity Group serves as a learning circle affording members an opportunity to exchange ideas, best practices, policies, and other resources with a collective goal of strengthening prevention and early intervention systems and services. Affinity Groups also provide participants with a venue for networking with peers and employers in their field. Affinity Groups meet on a quarterly basis. Affinity Groups are currently organized around HIV AIDS, mental health, substance abuse, adolescent health & development, early childhood education, maternal child health, preventable disease, juvenile justice, and violence prevention.
